DITT Construction Ltd recently transfered its entire shareholding to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). It is the largest construction company within Shetland. Our range of knowledge, expertise and ability allows us to undertake projects of all sizes, ranging from large scale Civil Engineering developments to Commercial and Industrial, right down to smaller scale domestic works. The company premises include a builder’s merchants’ operation with an extensive stock, serving the retail and trade market.
Due to our continued growth, we are now looking to expand our workforce. Hiring multiple candidates for the following positions:
Site Engineer – Sullom Voe Terminal
Remuneration
- Wages paid weekly.
- Rate of pay based on experience.
- Optional overtime available.
Responsibilities
- Strict compliance with relevant health and safety protocols.
- Awareness of environmental regulations.
- Safely working as part of a team.
- Comply with terminal rules and guidelines.
Desired skills and experience
- Driving licence essential.
- Basic knowledge of construction activities would be an advantage.

Shuttering Joiners & General Laboureres - Sullom Voe Terminal
Remuneration
- Wages paid weekly.
- Rate of pay based on experience.
- Optional overtime available.
Responsibilities
- Strict compliance with relevant health and safety protocols.
- Awareness of environmental regulations.
- Safely working as part of a team.
- Comply with terminal rules and guidelines.
Desired skills and experience
- Driving licence preferred.
- Experience using plant is favoured (dumper, roller, forklift etc).
- Basic knowledge of construction work.

Joiners - Lerwick based
Remuneration
- Competitive rate of pay.
- Monday – Friday, 39 hours.
- Wages paid weekly.
- Overtime available.
- Relevant PPE provided.
Responsibilities
- Strict compliance with relevant health and safety protocols.
- Awareness of environmental regulations.
- Working as part of a team delivering building projects.
Desired skills and experience
- Keen eye for attention to detail.
- Experience working within a construction environment.
- Willingness to work additional hours when required.
