Training was provided by the charity to a number of DITT employees, and two members of staff from the nearby Co-op supermarket also took part. However, anyone should have the confidence to use the equipment in an emergency as it does talk through the action that must be taken.
Whilst DITT has around 100 employees, it was considered vital as part of the Company’s community commitment to ensure that this life-saving equipment was available for anyone who might find themselves in a position where they might have to use it.
Neil Fraser and Gary Leask show the location of the defibrillator outside the DITT office and shop at Holmsgarth Road, Lerwick, which can be accessed by anyone, 24 hours a day.
